Welcome to Roz Hiking.

We are a friendly hiking group based in Hong Kong who do regular free weekly hikes, all over Hong Kong. Our hikes have varying degrees of difficulty, so please take a moment of your time to read the information on this website before joining a hike. Any questions, let us know and we hope to see you soon.
Sun, Feb 1, 2026: Fu Tei Country Trail & Kau Keng Shan, Tuen Mun
Fantastic views, weather permitting, over Tuen Mun, Gold Coast and Tai Lam Chung reservoir. We'll walk from the MTR station, past the South Heaven Buddhist Hall (Nan'an) to the start of the trail. The walk takes us alongside a narrow reservoir and then up on the opposite side of the Fu Tei Country Trail. We will head up to the helipad at Kau Keng Shan on the sky steps before making our descent. There are other options to reach the summit, so let's decide on the day. Note that anyone not wanting to go to the summit can opt for the easier option of the Tuen Mun Trail back to town.

Please note that some of the downhill trail is eroded and care must be taken as it may be slippy in parts. If you use sticks, make sure you bring them along with any other things you need for the day. When we are done we will grab a bite to eat and refreshments at Gold Coast (optional).

Tue, Feb 17, 2026: To Tei Wan to Wong Nai Chung Road
Happy Lunar New Year from Roz Hiking.

This is the Hong Kong Trail - stages 5, 6 & 7, backwards. We will catch the bus from Shau Kei Wan and alight at the Dragon's Back stop. From there stage 7 takes us down the steps and along the catchwater towards Tai Tam Reservoir. The walk along the catchwater is the least favourite section of many, but it offers nice views of Tai Tam Bay and is an easy stroll. Stage 6 takes us into Tai Tam Reservoir and up the service road to the toilets on the Mount Parker Rd. If anyone prefers to go back down to Quarry Bay at this point, they may do so.

From the toilets will continue to stage 5, the most beautiful and difficult section of the hike as we head up to Mount Butler (436m) and on to Jardine's Lookout (433m), before finishing near Parkview. Once we are done we will walk down to the bus stop and get a bus to Wan Chai to grab a Lunar New Year dinner in a local restaurant. Anyone not wanting to stay for dinner may head home.

Hope you can make it and see you soon.
