Any questions, let us know and we hope to see you soon.
Tue, Feb 17, 2026: To Tei Wan to Wong Nai Chung Road
Happy Lunar New Year from Roz Hiking.

This is the Hong Kong Trail - stages 5, 6 & 7, backwards. We will catch the bus from Shau Kei Wan and alight at the Dragon's Back stop. From there stage 7 takes us down the steps and along the catchwater towards Tai Tam Reservoir. The walk along the catchwater is the least favourite section of many, but it offers nice views of Tai Tam Bay and is an easy stroll. Stage 6 takes us into Tai Tam Reservoir and up the service road to the toilets on the Mount Parker Rd. If anyone prefers to go back down to Quarry Bay at this point, they may do so.

From the toilets will continue to stage 5, the most beautiful and difficult section of the hike as we head up to Mount Butler (436m) and on to Jardine's Lookout (433m), before finishing near Parkview. Once we are done we will walk down to the bus stop and get a bus to Wan Chai to grab a Lunar New Year dinner in a local restaurant. Anyone not wanting to stay for dinner may head home.

Hope you can make it and see you soon.

Sun, Feb 22, 2026: Shing Mun to Tai Po
Between Wilson Stage 7 and Macelhose Stage 8, there's another route on a quieter trail that will take us from Shing Mun Reservoir to Tai Po. From the meeting point, we'll bus to Pineapple Dam, and follow the winding contours of the reservoir along the Wilson Trail. On the point of a peninsula, we'll turn right to climb a gentle ridge, before long taking a left turn onto a cross trail which will take us all the way to Lead Mine Pass. From there we will descend on the Wilson Trail, or perhaps an alternate route to Yuen Tun Ha. Finally we'll walk through Wun Yiu village all the way into Tai Po. We'll probably have an early dinner near the MTR station.
