Welcome to Roz Hiking.

We are a friendly hiking group based in Hong Kong who do regular free weekly hikes, all over Hong Kong. Our hikes have varying degrees of difficulty, so please take a moment of your time to read the information on this website before joining a hike. Any questions, let us know and we hope to see you soon.
Sun, Feb 8, 2026: Shady Woods Walk in hills bordering Tai Lam and Tai Mo Shan Country Parks
We shall take bus 51 from Tsuen Wan West and alight at the Forestry Management Office bus stop almost at the highest elevation of the bus route closed to Tai Mo Shan. A bit of descend we join the shaded winding horizontal 400m contour Beeline Trail. Lots of insects and mysterious creatures such as red hill crabs are awaiting to be discovered along the way. When the Ho Pui Reservoir is in sight, we shall push upslope and cross the plantation road top of the ridge. With continuous entering and exiting unknown natural wooded trails, we shall hit the mid Lotus stream valley and go downslope finally to Sham Tseng.

Meeting Point: 9:30am @ Tsuen Wan West MTR, Exit D ( repeat: Tsuen Wan WEST, please don't go wrong ).
Sun, Feb 15, 2026: Shui Hau Exploration
It may be possible to climb 3 different (small) peaks in the area of Shui Hau Village that we have never attempted before. Let's try it, with the usual proviso that if it gets too steep or brushy, we will switch to other more formal trails in the area.

We'll start on the South Lantau Road to climb the trail up to Ko Shan Teng (204m) and then we'll continue along ridgetops and valleys to Shek Mun Shan (179m). We'll make our descent heading easterly, crossing the main trail and then continuing nearby to ascend Luk Keng Shan (165m). We'll explore the trail to the end, enjoying seaside views hopefully and possibly even touching the mudflats off Shui Hau. We'll probably backtrack on the last section to end the hike in Shui Hau Village with buses back to Tung Chung or Mui Wo.

The trail measures around 8km so of course it will take us all day.

Meeting Point: 9:30am Tung Chung MTR, Exit B
Tue, Feb 17, 2026: To Tei Wan to Wong Nai Chung Road
Happy Lunar New Year from Roz Hiking.

This is the Hong Kong Trail - stages 5, 6 & 7, backwards. We will catch the bus from Shau Kei Wan and alight at the Dragon's Back stop. From there stage 7 takes us down the steps and along the catchwater towards Tai Tam Reservoir. The walk along the catchwater is the least favourite section of many, but it offers nice views of Tai Tam Bay and is an easy stroll. Stage 6 takes us into Tai Tam Reservoir and up the service road to the toilets on the Mount Parker Rd. If anyone prefers to go back down to Quarry Bay at this point, they may do so.

From the toilets will continue to stage 5, the most beautiful and difficult section of the hike as we head up to Mount Butler (436m) and on to Jardine's Lookout (433m), before finishing near Parkview. Once we are done we will walk down to the bus stop and get a bus to Wan Chai to grab a Lunar New Year dinner in a local restaurant. Anyone not wanting to stay for dinner may head home.

Hope you can make it and see you soon.
