Welcome to Roz Hiking.

We are a friendly hiking group based in Hong Kong who do regular free weekly hikes, all over Hong Kong. Our hikes have varying degrees of difficulty, so please take a moment of your time to read the information on this website before joining a hike. STAGE ONE - PAK TAM CHUNG TO LONG KE
Start: This completely flat stage is popular with joggers. Climb over one hill after the reservoir road to get to a gorgeous beach. There are several ways to get to the start.

1 Take MTR to Choi Hung. Take exit C and take a minibus to Sai Kung. Get off at the last stop (the bus station). Then taxi to start of walk or take the bus the Pak Tam Chung. (From Admiralty MTR, expect 1 hr 20 minutes travel time)

2 MTR to Diamond Hill and take bus 96R all the way to Pak Tam Chung.

3 MTR to Hang Hau and take the minibus to Sai Kung bus terminus. Then taxi or take the bus to Pak Tam Chung.

End: There is no public transport from this point (unless you are lucky enough to find a taxi which has just dropped someone at the start of stage 2). Either you do section 2 next or you turn around and walk back.

Time: 3 hours

Difficulty: Easy. Flat paved road all the way (private cars not allowed, only taxis)

These are the official sections and times. However, if you click on the links you can see the actual walking times from where you can join the trail to where you get off. The stage endings on the map do not always have public transport available.

The MacLehose Trail hosts the annual HK Oxfam Trailwalker, one of the largest fundraising sports events in Hong Kong.

One star denotes the easiest walks with 3 stars being the most difficult. Difficulty levels are not an exact science and will differ based on your own hiking experience / fitness level. Please read our Hiking, Health & Safety section before doing any of these hikes. Thank you.
